Southern Crafted Millwork offers structural and decorative trusses made from both new and reclaimed lumber. For the rustic look of antique wood trusswork, nothing beats our reclaimed barn wood timber products, These timbers have been repurposed from old barns, factories and stables located in south central Virginia. We work directly with demolition contractors that supply us a variety of barnwood species, including reclaimed White Oak, Red Oak, Wormy Chestnut and Heartwood Pine.

Our reclaimed lumber has been transformed through time and nature into something that simply cannot be replicated with new growth timber. When we process reclaimed timbers, we make every effort to preserve the character of the original processing. Many of our timbers were hand chinked (resized) back before the turn of the century. These identifying “marks” simply tell the story of a time that has been long forgotten. We at Southern Crafted Millwork believe in repurposing these old timbers and recreating the beauty that can only be found in old growth timber.

In addition to our reclaimed wood products, Southern Crafted Millwork can also manufacture trusses using “NEW” lumber from a wide variety of wood species. Our experienced millwrights can produce trusses with a smooth finish, or they can replicate the antique look of rustic, hand-crafted millwork. This is being done in an effort to offer our customers quality millwork that replicates the character of reclaimed wood at a lower cost.
